Spring Hill Fair- 1 more sleep!

13/09/2013
Spring Hill Fair featured in the local newspaper

On the eve of our Brisbane Central State School Fair, the school is a hive of activity and preparations. Our Junior and Senior Choirs, Band and Year 4/5 – 7 students are super-excited about performing on the day. We are looking forward to seeing all our families at the Fair, for what promises to be a fun-filled and entertaining day. Last minute reminders for tomorrow:

  • If you haven’t already, please ensure that you volunteer  to help out on your child’s class stall. “Helping out” may  involve setting up or packing up the stall or serving on the stall during the day. We need all our parents to volunteer an hour of their time tomorrow  to help make the stalls a success.
  • Preparations start early- if you’re an early bird, our volunteers will be setting up from  6 am . Alternatively, if you like a sleep in, you can stay after the Fair and help clean and pack up.
  • Don your favourite costume – crazy glasses, a funny hat or your favourite super hero outfit.
  • Ensure you watch our students’ performances – they have put in a significant amount of time practicing and rehearsing
  • If your child is in  a performance, please ensure that they are in the Music room at least 20 minutes before their performance. All Choir, Band and Year 4/5, 5/6 and 6/7 students have received a letter home this week detailing when and where students should meet.

A HUGE, ENORMOUS, MASSIVE thank you to our AWESOME FAIR Coordinators – Miranda Crisci, Alyson Fenton and Amanda Woolnough, who have put in many, many unpaid hours of hard work  into ensuring that the Fair is a success. I will never be able to find the words that adequately express my gratitude. Behind Miranda, Alyson and Amanda, stand an amazing band of parents who have coordinated stalls and volunteers, prepared and cooked food, and sorted and created merchandise. I know that there will be bands of parents working together over the next 24 hours to assemble and dissemble ,   clean and tidy .  To all our volunteers – a heartfelt thank you for all your hard work over the past few weeks as our school  prepared for this big event.
