Brisbane Central Students performing at the French Festival

Bonjour / hello

Semester 2 started early for our French students and parents this term with many members of our Senior and Junior Choirs performing at the French Festival, celebrating Bastille Day at South Bank on Sunday the 13 July. They were great!

I'd like to thank them for giving up their lunch hours and some of their holiday time to represent our school so beautifully. Thank you too to our very supportive staff who helped with their choirs and to the parents and caregivers who came on the day. The French rendition of “Do Re Mi” was particularly adorable. Merci beaucoup!y. The French rendition of “Do Re Mi” was particularly adorable. Merci beaucoup!

The real Bastille Day was on Monday, however, our own celebration of Bastille Day this year will take place in Week 3, on Wednesday 30 July!

Everyone is invited to come in Free Dress (red/white/ blue or French themed) for the day, just as they do in France. We will be collecting a $2 coin donation, and in return we will be having "des Fetes" / parties and celebrations in our French class time. The money collected will go towards some food and drink, and prizes for students, so please be generous and support our Bastille Day Celebration!

Merci/ thank you
